Cold Forming
What Is Cold Forming? |
||||||||||||
Cold forming is a high speed forging process where coil steel or bar steel at room temperature is precisely cut to length, and then flowed due to applied pressure by a succession of punches and dies. The workpiece is forced beyond its yield limit and retains its altered shape upon removal from die. The metal is not forced beyond its tensile strength, otherwise fracturing would occur. |
